What is a Repetitive Brain Injury?
Variety is good for you, and if you keep on doing the same old things, over and over again, you get a repetitive injury. Just like you can get a repetitive strain injury from continually doing the same physical things (carpel tunnel syndrome, iPod finger, Nintendo thumb) and if you keep on having to answer the same questions over and over again, you can suffer from Repetitive Brain Injury.
Repetitive brain injury is particularly common among technical support staff and customer service personnel who have to answer the same old questions over and over again.
Is there any known cure? Well, I suppose you could try resting and then varying the questions a little.
Alternative Repetitive Brain Injury
Of course, the brain is very clever, with a good memory (well, some of them have at least) and, you know how it is when you get a repetitive strain industry, say at the computer keyboard. Well, you’d think that simply resting for a few days, weeks or even months would sort out the problem wouldn’t you? So how come you can sit down months later and your arms and fingers immediately start to get their old aches and pains back again – it’s all down to the power of the brain!
